Document archiving after cancelling your plan or on the Free plan
Cancelling your easybill plan does not automatically affect the archiving of your documents. This article explains what happens after a cancellation and what you should keep in mind. You can find the archiving prices and general information in the article Dokumentenarchivierung.
Does archiving continue after a cancellation?
Yes. Even after you cancel your plan, the archiving costs remain active until you deactivate them yourself.
Important: You can only deactivate archiving after cancelling your plan – but you do not have to wait until the end of your contract term.
How do I deactivate the archiving costs?
After cancelling, you can deactivate archiving directly in your account under Username > Konto verwalten > Archivierungsoption.
- The archiving costs continue until the end of the current billing period.
- After that, no further archiving fee is charged.
What happens on the billing day?
On your personal billing day, easybill checks how many archived (i.e. stored) documents are in your account – but only if you have deactivated archiving.
Fewer than 100 archived documents
- Everything stays as it is.
- You can keep working – until you reach your 100th document.
- After that, you will see a notice that you cannot create any more documents. You can only create new documents again once you have activated the archiving costs or booked a plan.
More than 100 archived documents
- You receive an email with a warning: your documents will be deleted in 6 weeks.
- To prevent the deletion, you have two options:
- Reactivate archiving
- Book a new plan
- You will receive regular reminders during this period.
- A clear notice is also shown in your account so that you are always informed about the upcoming deletion of your documents.
What happens if I do nothing?
If you do not respond and neither reactivate archiving nor book a new plan:
- All documents beyond the first 100 will be deleted.
- Your account remains in place.
Important: Deleted documents cannot be restored!
Can I reactivate archiving later?
Yes, at any time. If you want to keep your documents or create new ones, you can either
- reactivate archiving, or
- book a plan
– both directly in your account under Username > Ihr aktuelles Paket.
